SilverPack respects your privacy and handles your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have.
Who we are
SilverPack is a packaging materials supplier based in Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa. Our website address is https://silverpack.co.za.

What we collect
- Order information — your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and the details of what you ordered.
- Account information — if you create an account, your username and password (stored encrypted).
- Enquiry information — whatever you send us when you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp.
- Technical information — your IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected automatically by our website and hosting provider.
Payment information
We do not collect, see or store your card details. Card payments are processed by PayFast, an independent payment provider, on their own secure systems. We receive only confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed. If you pay by EFT, we see the reference and amount reflected on our bank statement.
Why we collect it
- To process, fulfil and deliver your order.
- To contact you about your order, or to answer an enquiry.
- To provide quotes on wholesale and bulk orders.
- To keep the accounting and tax records the law requires us to keep.
- To detect and prevent fraud.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.
Marketing messages
We will only send you marketing messages if you have asked to receive them. You can opt out at any time by replying to any message or emailing us, and we will stop.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the parties needed to complete your order:
- PayFast — to process card payments.
- Delivery drivers and couriers — your name, address and phone number, so your order can reach you.
- Our website host — which stores the site and its database.
- SARS, our accountant, or a regulator — where the law requires it.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies to keep your shopping cart working, to keep you signed in, and to understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site — the cart and checkout in particular — may then not work properly.
How long we keep it
We keep order and invoice records for at least five years, as South African tax law requires. Enquiries that do not lead to an order are kept only as long as they are useful, and account information is kept until you ask us to delete the account.
How we protect it
Our website runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection, admin access is password protected and limited to people who need it, and card details never reach our systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us.
Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep.
- Object to us processing your information.
- Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
